Erdödy castle is the oldest preserved cultural monument in Jastrebarsko. It is a multi-level building, of which the construction was started by Matija Gereb in the period from 1483 to 1489. From the beginning of the 16th century until 1922 the castle was owned by the noble family called Erdödy. Throughout its long history, this square palace, reinforced with two imposing round towers, was an important fortress during the Turkish conquests. In the Baroque period, the fortress was transformed into a castle and received porches in the inner quadrangular courtyard. The moats were partially filled in and the castle was given a beautiful English garden, which is now a popular walking path and a pond.
The project "Renovation and revitalization of Erdödy Castle in Jastrebarsko" includes the revitalization of the underused and abandoned building of the Erdödy Castle with a net area of about 3,700 square meters, which is a protected cultural asset, as well as the construction of a 5,575 square meter parking lot, which will provide 95 parking spaces for vehicles.
The above project will reuse and transform a valuable historical-spatial resource in the area of the Zagreb agglomeration, as well as restore and revive its cultural heritage.
The revitalization of the abandoned area of 3,709.47 square meters will remedy the qualitative and quantitative lack of public, socio-cultural and economic infrastructure in the area of the City of Jastrebarsko and in the gravitational area of the urban agglomeration.
Interkonzalting d.o.o. provides the services of professional on-site supervision and coordinator for health and safety supervision in renovation and revitalization of the Erdödy castle in Jastrebarsko.
