cultural monument was built in 1902 in neo-baroque style and unfortunately
suffered severe damage during the devastating earthquakes in March and December
2020. On March 22, 2020, the basilica was significantly damaged in an
earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale, and new damage occurred after
the earthquake of December 29, 2020, when the basilica's ceiling was damaged

the rest of the ceiling remained unstable. In 2022, a comprehensive renovation
of the basilica began.
